Founders Justin and Marisa Jackson
Back to School Brewing Ltd was founded in 2016 with the purpose of promoting community and craft beer education in Hong Kong. BTSB had a brick-and-mortar location in Lai Chi Kok from 2017-2019 that offered hands-on brewing courses and tasting sessions. Unfortunately that location was closed as full-time commercial brewing duties and an expanding family didn’t allow time for Mr. Jackson to continue teaching in that setting.
Justin started brewing at home in Hong Kong in 2013 and has been hooked ever since. After 10 years of teaching Physics he enrolled in a professional brewing course at the American Brewer's Guild and started planning to open Back to School Brewing. In January 2018 he began his professional brewing career with Double Haven Brewing in Fo Tan. He later joined the team at Hong Kong Beer Co. in 2021 before moving to Zurich, Switzerland in late 2022.
Today Mr. Jackson is back in the classroom teaching Physics while looking for opportunities in the brewing scene in Switzerland. We will continue to publish content through our blog and social media accounts.
